    • In december 2004 my legs went into paralysis and a large tumor was discovered in my spinal cord and the pressure on the nerves was causing the problems. The tumor was removed but the damage caused was loss of feeling to my legs, balance and coordination issues and severe tightness and lack of mobility of my hips and lower back. I started doing yoga in Feb 2006 and then attended Agama yoga in Thailand in Dec 07. Although physical therapy offered some benefits it was so sporadic that is was of little satisfaction. Hatha yoga offers me a new perspective of living with a disability. I have learned patience and acceptance of myself and the mindfulness that yoga creates has been a huge contributor to my overall well being and feeling satisfied with life in this body. I have met very many nice people through yoga and worked with some very knowledgeable teachers that have spent time teaching me proper alignment and how to work with props to assist in difficult asanas. My biggest thrill is to do the head stand and all I need is someone to help with lifting my legs over my head. By providing a large variety of asanas that work the various body parts I am armed with an arsenal of choices to keep my body toned and in continual quest for increasing my mobility each day. The focus of Agama yoga and the visualizing energy through my body has an affect that keeps me aware of the benefits I desire. Today I have continued a practice that ranges in duration, but because of the available resources to continually learn I can work body parts with a more focused approach and have more ideas as to how to assist myself in particular asanas. Meditation has also been a huge contributor to the shifting of my attitude towards life. Finding peace in a whacky world is sometimes quite difficult. I have found great joy in this physical challenge going on and love to share it with people. My life has been blessed (William, USA)
    •  Yoga as it is presented by Agama makes sense to us in a profound and beautiful way. It asks us for dedication, love and strength of character in return for a rare clarity.
My partner and I are expecting our first baby soon and we decided that revisiting Agama was an essential part of our preparation for this. If you feel the pull towards this school then accept it because it will touch you as well.

    • I hope we have more than 1 weekend. Great knowledge and I'll need more. Thank you (Suntree, Thailand)
    • Thanks for your sharing your great wealth of info and experience in a deep and lighthearted way. I look forward to more when it's right. Happy trails and Aloha (Eric, USA)
    • A very worthwhile course. Thankyou! The diagrams were very helpful as I sometimes forgot the names of the cakras and asanas. (Sarah, England)
